About Us
Upstage Downtown Dance Theatre was founded in 2001 by artistic director Tonya Fledderjohann to promote and preserve the art of ballet in our area and surrounding communities.
UDDT
offers training in classical ballet for all ages and levels of dancers. The school aims to serve both the recreational dancer, as well as the applied student. Its primary focus, classical ballet technique, provides a strong foundation for all other dance forms. UDDT's ballet program is competition free; that is not to say our students are not competitive, just that we do not promote sports-like competitions that are more lucrative than educational. All classes are taught with the experience and dedication to guide, inspire, and nurture all students to be their best, regardless of their goals in dance. Ballet training offers individuals skills that can be used throughout life. Discipline, self-confidence, grace, and poise are invaluable assets. Classes are also offered in pointe', adult ballet, jazz, all levels of gymnastics, and fitness classes.
